SEMO football players penalized in alleged hazing incident
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- Several members of the Southeast Missouri State football team have been penalized after an alleged hazing in April.
Eight members of the Southeast Missouri State University football team received a range of penalties Wednesday from the university's judicial review process.
Reportedly the players were in the locker room in April 13 at Houck Stadium where several players duct-taped the arms, legs and mouths of other team members.
While those players tried to get loose, they were carried outside to the field where two of the student athletes were reportedly duct-taped together on the field at their waist and legs.
The Cape Girardeau County prosecutor's office declined to press charges.
According to a news release from the university, the eight football players were found in violation of several student conduct policies and were sanctioned with penalties.
