Police investigating suspects passing counterfeit bills

Cape Girardeau Police are investigating suspects passing counterfeit bills in 4 different stores.

Police were called to West Park Mall on Wednesday where they say 4 different stores (Macy's, Lids, Finish Line and Champs) reported items were purchased with counterfeit $10 and $20 bills.

The suspects were described as 2 young males. No suspects are in custody at this point.

Officers say that retailers need to know what to look for when it comes to counterfeit money and not to just rely on the "pen."

At least 15 cars derailed, according to Kevin Payne with the Delta Fire Department.

Cape Central painted pumpkins

Cape Central painted pumpkins

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Viewer Lisa Hacker from Perryville, Mo. sent us these pictures to cNews of pumpkins she painted for Cape High School and Cape Junior High School.

Hacker says these are heirloom field pumpkins grown on their farm and weigh about 20 pounds. She says a Cape Central football fan requested the pumpkins for decoration at the school and they took about 4 1/2 hours each to paint.

She says the pumpkins should last several months if kept in a cool, dry place.

Send us pictures from your community to cNews and we'll feature them on your county site. Don't forget to include the time and location of the photo, along with your name.
