Jackson boy 1 of 12 chosen for clinical trial

He's one of 12 boys in the country to be chosen for a clinical trial that could save his life. Eleven year old Justin Trovillion of Jackson has Duchenne, a form of Muscular Dystrophy.

"A lot of people if you are around him everyday you would not know it. He has big calf muscles, that's one sign," said his mother, Carrie Trovillion. "But he can run and he jumps in his own way."

Justin is lucky. He was diagnosed at age three.

"His crawling was off," said Carrie. "Doctors diagnosed him immediately."

Carrie explains a grant through the Muscular Dystrophy Association makes it possible for them to participate in the expensive trial.

"We go to Columbus Ohio for three days a week. MDA pays for everything for planes to food to hotels. Because of the people that donate to MDA locally, Justin's life will be saved," said Carrie with tears in her eyes.
