Red Cross: Blood supply remains seriously low

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The local Red Cross reports their blood supply remains seriously low and reminds eligible blood donors to make and keep appointments.

On Monday, the American Red Cross said their supplies remain low even after thousands of area supporters responded to the national appeal for blood donations. They say blood products are going out to area hospitals just as quickly as donations are coming in.

According to the Red Cross, the massive heat wave overtaking most of the country is hurting blood collection at a time when the Red Cross has been working to rebuild its inventories.

Clay Waller talks on camera for the first time

Vandalized, threatened, and shot with a pellet gun. Clay Waller says he has experienced it all. Waller is the last person to see his estranged wife Jacque who vanished June 1, 2011.

He is a person of interest in her disappearance, but maintains his innocence.

Clay Waller says he misses his wife and kids. Over the past 50 days, KFVS12 has aired brief statements from Waller, but Wednesday was the first time he had said anything on camera.

"We want her to come home alive," said Clay Waller. The interview with Mr. Waller occurred outside a Department of Family Services meeting in Cape Girardeau. In that meeting, Clay Waller was face-to- face with Cheryl and Bob Brenneke, Jacque Waller's sister and brother-in-law.

The Brenneke's have custody of Clay and Jacque's 5-year-old triplets. The Brenneke's want to keep it that way.

Jacque Waller's parents predict break in case this week

Jacque Waller was first reported missing on June 1, 2011 ... seven weeks ago. Since then, family and friends have continued to search for clues surrounding her disappearance.

On Sunday, Jacque Waller's parents joined searchers and dog teams from half a dozen states to look for their daughter.

"I predict a break in this case this week," said Stan Rawson, Jacque's father. "We want to give those kids answers about what happened to their momma."

"We just keep praying," said Ruby Rawson. "I am so touched to see all these people here."

This is one of the most extensive searches so far using horses ATVs and dog teams.

The director of the Cue Center for Missing Persons Monica Caison says their priority areas are constantly changing as new tips come in.
