Woman involved in triple-homicide to be sentenced

One of three suspects convicted in a Cape Girardeau triple homicide will be sentenced later this month.

Michelle Lawrence will be sentenced on August 26 in Bollinger County.

Back in June, she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder.

She told the judge she helped plan the events that led to the murders of Jamie Orman, her son Derrick, and her unborn son.

But, Lawrence said the intended target was her estranged husband, John and not the Ormans.

She also agreed to testify against Patterson.

The other suspects, Samuel "Ray Ray" Hughes and Ryan Patterson will be sentenced later.

Cape Girardeau city officials want to evict Commander Air

The battle continues at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

City officials are asking a Texas court for permission to evict a bankrupt aircraft company.

The city wants to evict Commander Premier Aircraft Corporation from land at the airport.

Officials say the company owes the city of Cape Girardeau more than $1 million in rental payments.

The last payment was made in December 2007.

Commander, based in Tyler, Texas, filed for bankruptcy protection on June 16.

U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of Texas scheduled a hearing for late August on the issue.

City leaders gave the company an eviction note.

The city was renting out a small section of the hanger space for a few airplanes.
