An indoor yard sale fundraiser benefiting the children of Jacque Waller was held on Saturday, July 9. It was at the Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson, Mo. at 581 Broadridge Dr.

Organizers say donations have come from all over southeast Missouri. They believe over $1,000 had been raised even before noon.

The yard sale's hours were from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Friends of Jacque are having another fundraiser, this time a breakfast for Jacque Waller Saturday July 16 at Beef O' Bradys from 7-10 a.m.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Big River Telephone has announced they have hired three new employees to help with the Big River Broadband build-out.

Kara Wurtz will help the team as a data analyst. She graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelors in Business Administration in 2007. Wurtz will analyze the data and finances associated with the company's new broadband endeavor.

Katelyn Wensink is now the Director of Retail Operations. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Wensink has eight years of experience in the retail industry, three years in wireless and extensive involvement in community relations.

Tim Tettambel will lead the team as Vice President of New Ventures. He received his Bachelor's degree in Business from Webster University.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - According to the city of Cape Girardeau, Big Bend Road will be closed Monday, July 11 for about 45 days.

The road will be closed between Fifth Street and Roberts Street. Detours will be in place and routing traffic to Main Street.

The city says large truck traffic should follow the designated truck route. Drivers are urged to use caution in the area or pick a different route during the construction period.

The project on Big Bend Road is funded by Transportation Trust Fund 3, approved by voters in 2005.
