I am sure you will agree with me when I say that the most memorable images are those where the photographer truly captures the peak of the moment. For example: when your little girl laughs with delight, after blowing off all the petals of a dandelion. Or when your son, the receiver of his football team, reaches out to catch the pass with his fingertips.  These captured images create unforgettable memories that will last lifetimes.

Anyone can take pictures of a Blue Heron wading through the water on a sunny day. Although the portrait is beautiful, it doesn't make for an exciting picture.  It takes the patience of Job to capture the peak moment when the Heron reaches down to catch a fish. I am not trying to just take pictures, I am trying to capture once-in-a-lifetime moments that you and your family will cherish forever.  

Also, have you ever noticed that the smiles get larger and the photos get better towards the end of a photo shoot? Why is that? It's because the subject is getting more comfortable with the photographer. The relationship I build with the people I am photographing helps me to capture the unsurpassed moments. I try to figure out beforehand the personalities of my subjects, such as if they're all about their truck, have a passion for chocolate, or love hunting and fishing. Having a common conversation point when meeting new people helps break the ice, and creates a sense of comfort that is needed to capture those peak moments.
