CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Southeast Missouri Arts Council will be hosting a reception for the Mid America Print Council Member's Juried Exhibit on Friday, November 2 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Organizers say the show will be on display until Nov. 24 and features 42 print-makers from across the nation.
While the common theme of this Juried Exhibit is print making, the variety of techniques and elements displayed are quite diverse, including a real grilled cheese sandwich with an image of Jefferson Davis etched onto the outside crust. Other media in the show include lithographs, woodcuts, intaglio prints, digital prints, etchings, silkscreens, and monoprints.
The Juried Exhibit will be held in conjunction with the Mid America Print Council’s conference at Southeast Missouri State University, and is sponsored in part by the Mid America Print Council, the Department of Art at Southeast Missouri State University, and Southeast Missouri State University.
During the First Friday reception, beverages and other refreshments will be available for guests, courtesy of Major Brands. Catering by the Gordonville Grill will also be provided for patrons of the exhibit.
Come join other arts patrons and supporters in welcoming the Mid America Print Council during our First Friday events. The Visual Arts Cooperative also has new works to debut in the Jean A. Chapman Gallery, located in the Arts Council.
The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri is located at 32 North Main Street in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Galleries are open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
