CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -Shoppers are giving local businesses a boost on Saturday by joining in a "cash mob."
A "cash mob" is similar to a "flash mob," where you've seen the gatherings where groups of people meet up at random places at the same time and sing or dance to the same song.
However, instead of singing and dancing this involves shopping.
It's something that was started on the East Coast, and Laurie Everett with Annie Laurie Antiques brought the idea to Cape Girardeau. Organizers Elizabeth Shelton and Wes Wade took it from there.
The first ever Cape "cash mob" started Saturday morning at 11.
Shoppers met in the parking lot across from Hutson's Furniture on Main Street.
From there the shopping location was revealed.
The "mob" was going to Bilderbach Plaza to shop!
