Five fee offices across Missouri audited

Five fee offices across Missouri audited

JEFFERSON CITY, MO (KFVS)  – State Auditor Tom Schweich released audits of five fee offices from throughout the state today.

The offices are located in Cape Girardeau, Chesterfield, Montgomery City, Platte City and St. Joseph. The following is a summary of the audit of the Cape Girardeau office and a link to the report.

Cape Girardeau:  Department of Revenue official procedures require void transactions to be reviewed and approved by a supervisor, but the Cape Girardeau office did not document approval for 50 percent of void transactions that occurred from March 13 to March 19, 2012.  A supervisory review of voided transactions helps ensure transactions were voided for a valid reason.  The rating of this office is Fair.
