Lazy L Wild West Show Sept. 21-22 | Community Spirit
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Lazy L Safari Park will become the Lazy L Wild West Show again this year.
There will be three shows on Saturday, Sept. 21 (12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.) and two shows on Sunday, Sept. 22 (1 p.m., 3 p.m.).
Festus the Zorse, Ruby the Zebu, and Pecos the Water Buffalo will be among the animal performers featured during the show. The Kiddie Corral is where the kids will be able to play horseshoes and try their hand at roping the “Dummy” steer or trick roping. Children who are ages eight and under can bring their own stick horse for the Kid’s Stick Horse Races. Don’t have a stick horse – the zoo will have some for you to use. The Wild West Show and kid’s activities are all included in the regular zoo admission.
“You won’t want to miss this event," said Vicki Lantz, zoo director. "We put on this show last year and everyone kept asking when we were going to do it again – so, we thought we would make it an annual event.”
There will also be pony and camel rides available. For a complete show schedule you can visit the zoo’s website or Facebook Fan page.
The Wild West Show is the third week of special events which are all part of the zoo’s Fall Full of Fun in September and October. The eight weeks of fun for everyone started Sept. 7 and still includes the Safety, Health & Fitness Safari, Pumpkin Pazoola, Zoo Tunes Musicfest, Fall Craft Festival, and Boo at the Zoo. Other activities every weekend are the Lazy L Straw Maze, Kiddie Corral, Emu Fishing, and Parakeet Jungle. More information on all of these events and activities can be found on the zoo’s website.
