Flag Day in the Heartland | Community Spirit
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Hail to the red, white and blue!
Thursday is Flag Day. On June 14, 1777 the Continental Congress approved the design of a national flag.
They decreed the first US flag have 13 stripes, alternate red and white; and, that the Union be "13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation."
