Cub Scout Adventure Camp at Cape County Park | Community Spirit

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The heat isn't stopping the Cub Scouts from enjoying a week-long day camp at Cape County park.

This is the first time in the annual event organizers have had a fishing tournament. The scouts have had visits from the Cape city firefighters, the National Guard, and local musicians. Organizers say the camp is more than just fun and games, it's a great educational experience.

"We have 12 core scouting values we want to make sure we instill in the scouts. To be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, to be kind, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. We try to emphasize those 12 core values in the coarse of the week." said Kim Anello, Program Director of the camp.

After spending Monday in safety classes, the scouts had a fun time learning to shoot BB guns and practice archery.
