SafeHouse for Women to host Open House | Community Spirit

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - A community open house will be hosted by the SafeHouse for Women on Tuesday, August 14.

The event will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at their new Outreach office and Thrift store. The event is an opportunity to provide the community with a tour of the new facility. The relocation of the facility occurred earlier this year which expanded the space of the office and thrift store, to provide more space for the growing counseling services available there. The new location has also provided the thrift store with more space to display merchandise as well as the opportunity to now accept larger furniture.

All proceeds from the thrift store help provide more services to victims.

The attendees will also have the chance to meet the new Executive Director, Michelle Beggs Scherer. Scherer joined SafeHouse in June, she was previously the administrator of the Department of Disability Determinations in the state of Missouri.

The event will serve light refreshments and all are welcome to attend.
