JACKSON, MO (KFVS) - The City of Jackson will host a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4 in the Community Room on the 3rd floor of the Jackson City Library.
PGAV Planners, the planning firm for the city's DREAM Initiative, will hold this meeting to take input and suggestions about the strategic plan for uptown Jackson as it pertains to building design. All Jackson residents are encouraged to attend this meeting and to participate in the planning process.
DREAM stands for Downtown Revitalization and Economic Assistance for Missouri. Through state agencies such as the Missouri Development Finance Board, Missouri Department of Economic Development and the Missouri Housing Development Commission, it provides planning and financial assistance in order to establish grassroots Downtown (Uptown) revitalization.
The city says the program provides select communities with technical and financial assistance to accomplish downtown revitalization plans. Jackson was awarded DREAM community status in 2010.
