Flags fly at Cape County Park to honor 9/11 anniversary
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The VFW of Cape Girardeau has placed about 455 flags at Cape County Park on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
According to Jerry Hampton with the Cape Girardeau VFW, they put the flags up at least five times a year:
- Memorial Day
- 4th of July
- Flag Day
- 9/11
- Veteran's Day
- Sometimes Pearl Harbor Day, if it's not too cold
Hampton said they will take the flags down at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
