JACKSON, MO (KFVS) - A total of 1,500 golf balls rained down from a helicopter over a specially made green at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson this fall, all for a good cause.
The SoutheastHEALTH Auxiliary, along with the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation, hosted this unique fundraiser, “Just Drop It ‘Fore’ a Cause,” on Saturday, Oct. 13, to benefit the cancer patients at Southeast Cancer Center.
Balls were numbered to correspond with an entry ticket and dropped over the designated hole in view of the crowd who had gathered for dinner, music provided by the Jerry Ford Combo, and an entertaining way to make a hole in one. The winners of the cash prizes for landing closest to the pin were: Lyle Davis, $500; Marsha Haskell, $250; and Steve Foeste, $100. The event raised more than $13,650.
