9th Annual Holiday Turkey Drive Nov. 19-21 | Community Spirit

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The 9th Annual Turkey Drive LIVE event will be November 19 through November 21 at the Cape Girardeau Schnucks store.

Big River will be partnering with Schnucks, the Salvation Army and Withers Broadcasting to sponsor and promote the drive.

Donation vouchers may be picked up at Schnucks and the Big River Telephone office in Cape Girardeau. The voucher and a $10 donation can then be used at the register in Schnucks when checking out.

All donations will be used by the Salvation Army to provide meals to local families in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Big River employees will be standing outside at each event explaining and promoting the purpose of the Turkey Drive and handing out vouchers.

Big River is also encouraging people to “Like” their Big River Telephone Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/bigrivertelephone. For every “Like” that they receive between Nov. 1 and Dec. 21 Big River will donate $2 to go towards the Turkey Drive.

The Holiday Turkey Drive officially starts Nov. 1 and will not end until Dec. 21.

“Last year we were able to help donate over 400 turkeys to local families in need via the Salvation Army," said Chris Foeste, General Manager of Big River Telephone. "This year we’re hoping to top our efforts and provide even more for the community. It’s a fun and successful event we look forward to hosting each fall, and we’re hoping for the best turnout for this 9th year."
