City Hall chimney height to be reduced, entrance closed
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The City of Cape Girardeau announced they recently awarded a contract for the brick renovation work at City Hall.
The contract was awarded to Kiefner Brothers. They city says they will reduce the height of the chimney, fix the brick, guard rails and columns at the southwest entrance and rebuild additional brickwork near the city's data center through the month of December.
According to the city, the southwest entrance to City Hall will be closed. During that time, they say a portion of the parking lot directly outside the southwest entrance will also be blocked off, due to construction equipment in the area.
