20th Annual Doctor/Lawyer Basketball Showdown March 2 | Community Spirit

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The 20th Annual Doctor/Lawyer Basketball Showdown will be Saturday, March 2 at Cape Central Junior High School Gym.

The game will start at 5 p.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Community Counseling Center Foundation and will be used to provide special needs of those with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.

Tickets for the game are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12. There will also be a post-game party immediately after the game around 7 p.m. at the Dockside, 4 North Spanish Street in Cape Girardeau. Tickets for the post-game party are $20 and include food, beverages, live entertainment and admission to the game. There will also be a silent auction with lots of items.

You can buy tickets in advance at the counseling center, 402 South Silver Springs Road in Cape Girardeau, or at the door.

The Community Counseling Center is a private, not-for-profit comprehensive mental health care center, providing services to children, adults and families.

According to the foundation, many area doctors and lawyers give their time to practice for and play in the heated competition, and their antics always make for a fun and entertaining evening for families in the Heartland.
