4th annual 'Vintage Now' fashion show | Community Spirit
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Fourth Annual "Vintage Now" fashion show was held Tuesday night at The Venue.
The Safe House for Women announced the theme for Vintage Now 4 is The Great Gatsby, and the evening featured all the glitz and glamour of the Roaring 20s with a modern twist.
VintageNOW is hosted by Pastimes Antiques and rustmedia. All net proceeds benefit the Safe House for Women.
Hundreds gathered in Cape Girardeau to support the safe house and they did it in style.
Even some women from Heartland News took part in the show.
The keynote speaker Cheryl Brennecke talked about her sister Jacque Waller and how resources like the safe house can help people in the same situation.
It's something she says can make a huge difference.
"I think with Jacque, it opened people's eyes to see that it could be anyone's sister, or friend or co-worker," said Brennecke. "Because she was so intelligent. She just had everything going for her."
Last year, VintageNOW3 drew over 900 people and raised more than $40,000 to provide comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence through the work of the Safe House for Women.
Adding to this year's festivities was the cross media support of rustmedia.
