Dot the Camel getting used to new-found fame | Community Spirit
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - It's been almost two weeks since Dot the Camel got loose and romped around a Cape Girardeau subdivision.
Liz Hale, with Camel Ranch Entertainment, said Dot spent a couple years traveling and performing with The Ringling Brothers Circus, so she is very used to, as well as loves, attention which makes her a very curious camel.
Hale said people went crazy over Dot and she's "carrying her hump a little higher" because of all the attention.
This fall, people will be able to go and "Spot the Dot" at the 5H Ranch, which will be opening back up to the pubilc. It will feature a pumpkin patch with "Pink Patch," fall festivals and opeing in Winter 2013, a "Country Christmas at the 5-H Ranch" featuring Santa and his reindeer, pre-cut Christmas trees, Santa's workshop, lights, camle rides, pony rides and more.
Hale said with Dot being so popular around the area, they wanted to start the "Camels for a Cause" to help raise money for all different kinds of causes locally.
