Cape Girardeau man facing drug trafficking charges

PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Cape Girardeau man was arrested Friday, August 31 on several drug and traffic related offenses.

Jeffrey B. Cronenbold, 50, from Cape Girardeau was charged with a Class A felony trafficking in drugs.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Perry County Sheriff's Office and SEMO Drug Task Force arrested Cronenbold after they say they found him in possession of a misdemeanor amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe used for smoking it. They say he also had 5.8 ounces of Methamphetamine.

"Cronenbold was stopped and charged with a minor traffic violation," said Perry County Sheriff Gary J. Schaaf, "but things just got worse for him after that."

Schaaf said the meth they found on Cronenbold had an approximate street value of $16,000.

Cronenbold is being held at the Perry County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.
