Jan. blood drives for Cape Girardeau Co. | Events

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Blood drives for the month of January have been scheduled for the Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky areas.

The American Red Cross says January and February are tough months for blood collection. They say blood drives may be canceled because of inclement weather, donors cancel blood donation appointments when the roads are bad and many people have cold and flu symptoms, making them ineligible to give blood.

Blood drives in Cape Girardeau County include:

• Jan. 20 - Bank of Missouri, 3427 William Street, Cape Girardeau, Mo. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Jan. 20 - Cape Girardeau Career Tech Center, 1080 S. Silver Springs Rd., Cape Girardeau, Mo. from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Other Southeast Missouri blood drives in January include:

• Jan. 18 - Ste. Genevieve County Mem. Hospital, 800 Ste. Genevieve Dr., Ste. Genevieve, Mo. from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Jan. 18 - Senath Church of Christ, 202 East Commercial, Senath, Mo. from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Jan. 19 - Missouri Department of Transportation, 2675 N. Main St., Sikeston, Mo. from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
