Family Caregiver Conference to help caregivers with no previous medical training | Events

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Caring Hands In Home Care and The Area Agency on Aging will present a Family Caregiver Conference on Wednesday, June 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The three-hour workshop is designed to provide learning experiences for those with a family member or friend who needs care in a home setting.

Meant for the adult with no previous medical training, the workshop will provide practical information and take-home reading materials that address the complex issues in home care that must be dealt with including physical safety and exercise, caregiver stress, and communicating with a loved one who has memory, vision or hearing deficits. This is also an opportunity to build a network of support, reduce the sense of isolation and increase confidence.
