Safari park offers camel, pony rides Labor Day weekend | Events

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Lazy L Safari Park will be open during the Labor Day holiday weekend for camel and pony rides.

The rides will be operating Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 1-3 at the zoo for just $5 per rider.

Lucille the Dromedary Camel will be giving rides and you can visit the other camels, Dixie, Suzy and Camille in the main barn area along with all the other animals at the zoo. The park says Red Fred the Pony loves giving children a pony ride.

After Labor Day weekend, the hours of operation at Lazy L Safari Park will change and the zoo will be open to the public on weekends only (Saturday and Sunday) from 10 am to 6 pm for the rest of September and October.  However, they say they will still be open during the weekdays (Monday thru Friday) for Birthday Parties, Group Tours or Venue Rentals with a reservation.

Lazy L Safari Park located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri is a walk-thru zoo featuring animals from antelope to zebras. Visitors can get up close and personal with over 40 different species of exotic animals. You’ll also find a petting zoo, gift shop, picnic shelter, and snack shack.
