Franklin Elementary, Central Middle School celebrate with ribbon cuttings | Events
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Two ribbon cuttings Friday, October 19 at Franklin Elementary and Central Middle School marked the completion of two more projects of the 2010 bond issue.
At left, Franklin Principal Dr. Rhonda Dunham is pictured seconds before she cut the ribbon in front of the new Franklin Elementary, a state-of-the art, 50,000-square-foot facility. In the photo below, Central Middle School Principal Rex Crosnoe is surrounded by students and well-wishers as he prepares for the honors at his school, which received a new breezeway connecting the main building to the gym.
The school district says additional space provides office and conference areas. Other upgrades at CMS include a new boiler, temperature controls, new safety railing on the main stairs, security cameras, exterior security doors, fire alarm enhancements and additional parking.
The bond issue provided for improvements at eight of the District’s ten campuses. One final project, the Richard D. Kinder Performance Hall at Central High School, is scheduled for completion late this winter.
