CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- Police have released more information on what may have led up to an attempted suicide on Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau in April.
Court documents show Quinton Headrick was under investigation for abusing a young girl.
According to a probable cause statement, the victim told police Headrick put lotion on her, kissed all over her body, and eventually put his hand in her pants.
The victim, who is younger than 14, told investigators he then took her hand and put it on his genitals.
Police say while they were interviewing the victim about the incident, Headrick tried to commit suicide on Interstate 55 by shooting himself and stepping into traffic.
Headrick faces a charge of statutory sodomy.
