Lawn care business owners feel heat of drought
News

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- People who make a living in the lawn care industry are feeling the heat.

Steve Niedbalski runs a lawn care business.

He says if the grass isn't growing, there's no need for someone to cut it.

But Niedbalski says he's finding some work because there are other things that still need to be done.

"Easiest it's our busiest. However, this year with the drought and everything, business has reduced by I would say at least 50 percent," Niedbalski said. "A lot of us mowers have found other employment solutions."

Niedbalski says people who do lawn care work part time probably handle the drought better because they rely on other income to make ends meet.
