(KFVS) - Missouri military families in need will receive $200,000 in energy assistance in honor of their commitment.
Ameren Missouri will be offering the assistance to recognize the sacrifice men and women of the armed forces make to serve their country.
"Serving in the armed forces puts an emotional, physical and financial strain on families. We can help by offering energy assistance to military families so they have one less thing to worry about," said Michael Moehn, senior vice president, Customer Operations, Ameren Missouri.
Members of all branches of the military living in Ameren Missouri's service territory are eligible. Ameren said 400 families who qualify may receive a $500 energy credit on their utility bills.
"The Ameren Missouri Military Energy Assistance program will help many military families in need," said Lt. Col. Christopher L. Mickan, administrative officer, 70th Troop Command, Missouri National Guard. "Many military personnel struggle with re-employment upon return from deployment. Ameren Missouri has reached out during sluggish economic times by providing a program that will make a positive impact on the Citizen Soldiers and Airmen of Missouri. God bless Ameren Missouri and all of the other Missourians who support the military."
To determine eligibility, military personnel or family members should contact the Missouri National Guard Family Program Office at 573.638.9500 ext. 7681.
