Southbound I-55 to be reduced for asphalt paving

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says southbound I-55 in Cape and Perry Counties will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction while crews start asphalt overlay.

This section of highway is located between Route 51 at Perryville and Route 61 at Fruitland.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Monday, July 9 through Monday, Oct. 15 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.
