News

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)-

A Cape Girardeau man faces a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted in a 2011 shooting.

A judge sentenced Jimmy Bell to a total of 50 years in prison, 25 years for assault and 25 years for armed criminal action.

Bell must serve 85 percent of that sentence.

A jury found Bell guilty of bringing a local man out to a rural part of Cape Girardeau County and shooting him in the head.

The victim recovered from his injuries.

The second man charged in this crime goes to trial Wednesday.

Seth Summers faces the same two charges of assault and armed criminal action.
