CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- A lot of questions and very few answers after a late night stabbing in Cape Girardeau Monday night.

The stabbing happened around 8:45 p.m. Monday in the 100 Block of South West End Boulevard.

Police rushed to the scene after getting the report.

Cape Girardeau police say two females who knew each were arguing and got into a fight. Then, one of the suspect's brother allegedly handed her a knife. An arm and a finger were cut during the fight.

Cape Girardeau Police say the victim went to a Cape Girardeau hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Melanie Ann Swift was charged with 2nd degree assault a class C felony with a bond of $25,000 surety.
