Missouri Department of Conservation to host deer workshop
News

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- The Missouri Department of Conservation is hosting a free workshop for landowners and hunters who want to learn about managing deer in Missouri.

This is in anticipation of the bow hunting season which begins on Saturday.

The workshop will cover a variety of topics, including how to improve habitat for deer, making a deer-management plan, and using camera surveys.

It will also be important for landowners who want more information.

The Missouri Department of Conservation says more than 90% of land in the state is privately owned and that's where most hunting is done.

The department also says managing private land for deer also benefits other wildlife.
