CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- A couple of rides at SEMO District Fair had to be shut down Wednesday night.

Pete Poe with the SEMO District Fair said that fair officials did have to shut down a couple of rides last night because a cable broke on one the rides.

No injuries were reported.

"The rides are inspected regularly," said Pete Poe, SEMO District Fair President. "Midway operators get the rides inspected at the beginning of the season. They're subject to random inspections throughout the course of their season as long as they're in the state of Missouri."

Officials had the ride repaired by Thursday.

A ride safety inspector checked the repairs and gave the approval to open the ride.
