DEA: Over 1,000 pounds of medication collected at Drug Take Back event
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Drug Enforcement Agency out of Cape Girardeau says they have collected 1,138.2 pounds of prescription medication and various other medications from the Drug Take Back event on Saturday.
Larry Gregory with the DEA says this is a lot of households and they have eliminated that much more for people that could potentially abuse these medications.
Gregory believes over the years of doing these events, that the awareness is up and people are more educated about how people abuse these medications.
