CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responded to a fire Tuesday night at 58 Rivercrest Drive.
Crews arrived around 9 p.m. and say they were confronted with moderated smoke and heat. They say they found the fire in the kitchen, around the stove. Crews were able to bring the fire under control.
All four Cape Girardeau Fire Stations responded to the fire and no injuries were reported. The fire department says smoke alarms did alert the family.
According to the fire department, the fire is believed to have accidentally started on top of the stove.
