CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- Police say three men face drug charges after a traffic stop Wednesday evening in Cape Girardeau.
According to Officer Darin Hickey, on Wednesday evening around 8 p.m. an officer made a traffic stop near Hanover and William Street.
The officer arrested the three occupants of the vehicle after police say items were seen in the vehicle.
Robert L. Chapman Jr., 30, of Mounds, Illinois was charged with class B felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (more than 5 grams of marijuana).
Russell W. Mackins, 24, of Olive Branch, Illinois was charged with class A misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).
Clarence J. Smith, 20, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri was charged with class A misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (marijuana)
The men were being held at Cape Girardeau Police Department, but were to be transported to Cape Girardeau County Jail.
