Missouri volleyball championships fill up Cape Girardeau hotels | News
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- The Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau is calling this "a no vacancy weekend."
The hotels are filled up as the city expects thousands of visitors for the state volleyball championships which start Friday morning.
Cape Girardeau has 900 hotel rooms, all of which will be filled according to the city.
In fact, the visitors bureau has had to refer people to Perryville, Sikeston, and Anna, Illinois, for additional rooms.
"With all the construction we've had in Cape lately, the rooms have been full," said Stacy Dohogne Lane with the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We've had to seen people to other areas. A lot of people want to be here for the tournament."
Two local teams will be playing for a state championship.
Bernie in class 1 and Perryville in class 3.
