Gov. Nixon announces appointment of Knudtson to university Board of Regents | News
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Gov. Jay Nixon announced Thursday the appointment of Jay Knudtson to the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents.
The six-member Board of Regents appoints the President of the university, employs faculty and staff and makes budgetary and policy decisions necesary to implement the university's mission.
Knudtson is executive vice president, chief lending officer and a bank board director at the First Missouri State Bank. He served as Mayor of Cape Girardeau from 2002 to 2010, and as chairman of the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Board from 1995 to 2001. Knudtson received the Vandiver Show Me State Award from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006.
The Governor has appointed him for a term ending Jan. 1, 2019.
