Mickey Mouse writes back to Franklin Elementary 4th graders | News
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - When Franklin Elementary Teacher Elizabeth Speicher assigned a letter-writing exercise to her 4th-grade class she wasn’t optimistic that her students would actually receive a reply from the famous Walt Disney character, Mickey Mouse; but they did.
“I was really surprised,” said Ms. Speicher, an enthusiastic teacher who is completing her first year of teaching at Cape Public Schools.
The assignment was to write a friendly letter to their favorite Walt Disney character.
“The children wrote some beautiful letters. It was a fun project and we learned a lot about letter writing,” the teacher explained.
In addition to a hand-written reply from Mickey, which Speicher read to her class, each child received an autographed greeting card.
