Robotic competition held at Show Me Center | News
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- High school students packed the Show Me Center Saturday for a different kind of competition.
There were 48 teams from across the Heartland that competed in a robotics challenge.
It was the fourth year the challenge has taken place in Cape Girardeau. It's also the largest qualifying event in Missouri.
Students spent months putting together and programming the robots.
They say they have learned a lot through the process.
"Eighty-five percent of it is all building the robot and doing trial and error," said Ethan Rendleman, Scott City High School student. "Getting the robot together, watching it build up. (It's) kind of like having your own little child."
Southeast Missouri State University announced they will be having a first ever robotics camp this summer at the event.
