NWS confirms EF1 tornado hit near Jackson

JACKSON, MO (KFVS)- The National Weather Service in Paducah confirms a second tornado touched down in Cape Girardeau County on Tuesday night. The first was in Delta, and the second happened near Jackson, Missouri.

Reports show it happened on Tuesday around 9:13.

Preliminary reports show the EF1 tornado began 4.8 miles southwest of Jackson, and lifted 4.8 miles southeast of Jackson.

The twister had peak winds of 95 mph with a width of 50 yards and a path of 5 1/2 miles long.

No injuries or fatalities were reported.

The tornado did down trees and took shingles off of house tops. Two barns in separate locations had the second floor removed.
