Gun show draws hundreds in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- Hundreds packed the Arena Building in Cape Girardeau for the annual SEMO Gun Show.

Dealers at the event say they are seeing an increase in first-time buyers.

Customers have told them that they thought about buying guns before, and now they don't know if they will be able to do so in the future.

This increase in business has also brought an increase in gun prices across the country.

More people walking through the door is a sight organizers are welcoming.

"Well, attendance is definitely up, and I think the main reason for it is because of the incidents on the East Coast," said gun show organizer Brad Moore. "And, people are scared some of the weapons they were able to buy in the past are gonna be outlawed because of the incident up there."

The gun show continues Sunday.
