Route U bridge to be closed for improvements
SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - The Route U bridge over Allen Creek will be closed for improvements beginning Monday, March 21.
The roadway will be closed from Route 34 to Route A for the construction. It is expected to be finished in early May. Signs and will be in place during the work. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution near the area.
The improvements are through the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program which will fix over 800 of the state's lowest-rated bridges by winter 2013.
