CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) – A professor at Southeast Missouri State University has received the Textbook of Distinction award from the National Communication Association.
Dr. Glen Williams, professor and chair of the Department of Communication Studies, co-authored the textbook that received the award.
The textbook, in its third edition, helps students recognize and appreciate the role of speaking, listening and communicating in a democracy.
The award recognized the textbook because it offers a unique approach to its subject and makes a distinct and positive contribution to student education.
The selection committee also considers evidence of impact and student performance in determining the award.
Williams wrote two chapters of the textbook and the bulk of the instructional material, which accompanies the text.
