CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Patients at Saint Francis Medical Center now have a noninvasive alternative to treat cancerous and noncancerous tumors anywhere on the body.

The medical center has added what they call the world's most advanced cancer-fighting weapon, a CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System.

Because the CyberKnife delivers beams of high-dose radiation with accuracy, it is ideal for patients with inoperable or surgically complex tumors.

“This technology makes treatment possible for patients who might be too weak to tolerate surgery,” said Tapan Roy, MD, FACR, radiation oncologist at Saint Francis.
