CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau has gained the honor as one the best universities in the Midwest.
According to Southeast, the university is listed this week among the best regional universities in the Midwest in the 2013 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report.
Southeast says they have been ranked by the publication since 1993.
Officials say the university has reported enrollment growth for 18 consecutive years, and in 2011 was the second fastest growing public four-year university in the state of Missouri.
“This record of growth demonstrates Southeast’s commitment to serving a wide variety of students and offering the right mix of academic programs for today’s college student population,” said Dr. Debbie Below, associate vice president for enrollment management and director of Admissions.
The best college edition includes the rankings of nearly 1,400 schools nationwide. The 332-page 2013 edition of the Best Colleges guidebook is available at www.usnews.com/colleges and will be on newsstands September 18.
