CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- Officials from Cape Girardeau Schools met Monday to discuss fine-tuning the dress code.

Superintendent Dr. James Welker tells us the Board decided to allow shirt sleeves to be fingertip length, they clarified what is considered a coat and jacket, cargo and carpenter shorts or pants are now allowed.

The Board did not approve a proposal to ban jeans for grades seven through 12.

Welker said the stricter dress code had been in place for several months now, and the Board wanted to revisit the policy.
