JACKSON, MO (KFVS) - A viewer sent us this picture of 8-year-old Riley Russell from Jackson with his first turkey.

He bagged the big bird on Saturday, March 31. It weighed 21 pounds, had an 8 inch beard and 7/8 inch spurs.

Spring turkey season is underway. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, youth season ran March 31 to April 1 and the regular season will be April 16 through May 6.
